SIN CHANGI AIRPORT, SINGAPORE

Dynamic Identity Concept

SIN Changi Airport brings nature indoors, connecting the garden and marketplace. Integrated with the natural world and the constructive, design world, Jewel Changi re-imagines the center of an airport as a major public realm attraction with a 40-meter-high indoor waterfall, the Rain Vortex.

Based on the geometry of a torus, the heart of its glass roof is an oculus that showers water through a primary multistory garden to the forest-valley garden at the ground level.

The SIN Dynamic Mark design integrates the repetition of curved structural lines from the oculus architectural design and shapes of the vortex waterfall, the Jewel of the airport. The shapes within the design follow the rhythm of flows of water and cycle back.
